Introduction to Our Jewish Roots in the Holy Eucharist

Background …

In this discussion, we focus on the Jewish roots of the Holy Eucharist.

The first generation of Christians were all Jewish, and Jesus was actually a Jewish rabbi. So, of course, the church Jesus started understandably looked a lot like the “church” people of his time were familiar with at the temple and in the synagogues where the scrolls were read.

And it should not surprise anyone if that church started by Jesus still looks a lot like the “churches” Jewish people today know about. Our roots were grown in the fertile soil of Judaism.

Introduction …

“Our Jewish Roots” is a Bible study based on a book and presentations by Dr. Brant Pitra. Dr. Pitra  is on the team at Augustine Institute, the apostolate behind Formed training. It is our adult Bible study class for May-June 2023.
