Library :: Media Matters

Big businesses know something most ordinary people still don’t seem to understand. Media matters! It makes an impact on you. You become what you see and hear in media, so it is in our best interest to make sure that we do not expose ourselves to anything we don’t want to influence us.

Catholic media is amazing! EWTN; CatholicTV; Catholic radio; Catholic movies; Catholic books magazines, and newspapers; and, of course, Catholic social media. They all make a huge difference in our lives.

A recent survey by the Pew Research folks revealed that nearly 70% of the active, practicing Catholics today don’t actually believe in the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. They don’t believe Jesus told the truth in the Bread of Life discourse (John 6).

Without conducting any research ourselves, we believe we can say with reasonable certainty that about 70% of the active, practicing Catholics today don’t regularly engage with Catholic media too. How can we say that? Because media influences how you think and what you believe — and Catholic media definitely promotes the real presence, as well as the Church itself.
