I’ll Help You

Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

—1 Pt 3:8 (NRSV)

Flash News …

PASTORAL CENTER USA (CR News) — They’re children of God. They’re committed to helping each other get to heaven. They’ve learned a secret that never fails, and they’re sharing it with the world.

Life’s journey is always better with a little bit of nun sense!

Let’s talk.

Background …

Nobody’s ever made it to heaven without love. We all need help.

The Bible tells us to be of one spirit. (cf. 1 Pt 3:8) Love each other. Set your heart free so it can become tender. Don’t think too highly of yourself. Treat others as if God loves them. Some day we’ll realize just how true that really is!

Nitty Gritty …

There’s an old Catholic joke that goes something like this:

Sr. Charity: “What must a person do to become a saint?”
Sr. Albertina: “Die.”

And the crowd laughs. They laugh because the saints most people know are dead. In truth, however, those saints in heaven are fully alive in the presence of God. They watch over us, continuously praying and cheering us on as we journey together to heaven. (Heb 12:1-2)

But what about those saints here on earth? The ones who are all around us everyday? “I’ve never seen a saint here on earth,” you might say.

“Well, take another look,” we would reply.

Everywhere you go, there are saints alive who help others travel the Holy Highway (Isa 35:8). They are pilgrims just like you and me. They’re the ones who pour themselves out as fuel for other weary travelers. They do it with love.

“What must a person do to become a saint?” Sr. Charity might ask again.

“She loves when others need love,” Sr. Albertina would reply. “To get to heaven, a saint just loves!”

That’s nun sense, folks!

It’s Your Move …

The world is getting crazy, but you don’t have to be a part of the craziness. But you do have to make a decision. Like a grand game of chess, the next move is yours!

What will you do? Nun sense calls you that you see where God is working in your midst and join Him there. Turn away from the evil and repent of your sin. Seek the Lord while He still can be found. (Isa 55:6)

You’ll never regret getting closer to God and loving Him more — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Vivat Jesus!
