GRAND STRAND (CR NEWS) — A Palmetto State man who claims to have had a conversation with God recently has begun telling people that there’s more to God than most of us know. His actions are meeting resistance by some groups who have long believed they know everything there is to know about God.

Background

Well, old Rom got himself into some real trouble recently. It happened as he made his way up Hwy 17. That’s the highway that people in these parts call “the King’s Highway.” Right now, Rom’s not so sure it was a good idea to tell people he had been talking with the Lord.

Let’s talk.

The Nitty Gritty

“It was really just a prayer,” Rom said. “I had a friend who was feeling ill. He had asked for prayers, so I prayed for him.

“Well, you know how it is,” the old man continued. “I was alone in my car, and I started thinking. Before long, I realized I was thinking things I didn’t know anything about. That’s when I realized God was with me,” he said.

According to Rom, a man can’t tell himself anything that he doesn’t know.

“It’s physically impossible,” Rom asserted. “A man can get curious and do some research, but he can’t just come up with stuff on his own that he’s never even heard before.”

According to the old man, that’s how he first realized that he was not alone in his car.

“I didn’t see anybody,” he said. “And I didn’t hear any audible voices either,” he added. “Everything sounded like my thoughts always sound to me. But there was something different — it was the stuff being said!”

Rom acknowledged that he really didn’t know if it was God speaking to him or not.

The old man paused and chuckled a little.

“Anyway, I learned a good lesson on the way to our place on the South Strand,” Rom told the people in the room. “I learned that we don’t know as much about God as we think we know. God is amazing! There’s so much more going on with Him in heaven and on earth than we could even think about.”

Our Story

The room grew quiet. Nobody argued with what the old man was saying. They just seemed to doubt that the wisdom actually came from God.

Well, that’s our story and we’re sticking to it!
