A Good Plan

Our Story …

Archbishop Lori was making plans for the future. He always liked talking with his buddy, Bishop Bob, when he made plans for the region. Bishop Bob was a good listener, and he was graceful with his responses.

It Is Written …

The Bible tells us that it’s good to make plans, but the wise man commits his plans to the Lord. He expects God to guide his footsteps so the outcome of his plan actually glorifies and honors God. (Prov 16:3,9)

As God guides us, we adjust our plans. No, that’s not “knee jerk.” It’s called being flexible and adaptable.

Life Goes On …

Bishop Bob often told Herman, his Cathedral mouse, that the more things change, the more they stay the same. That’s what was behind the Archbishop’s plan too. The plan always had been to bypass the things that get in the way or simply don’t work. Understandably, Bishop Bob thought his Archbishop was doing the same plan — and he actually was (sort of). But the old Archbishop had noticed something.

It was a new world. New things that didn’t even exist a decade ago were breaking now. And the Church needed a plan to contend with this challenge. The Archbishop was wise about these things.

The two men did not solve all the problems of the world, of course. But they did see them for what they were. Identifying the problem is always the first step in solving any problem. These two bishops are off and running together to serve God and His people.

It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

In Christ, Brothers.
