Catching Up!

Our Story …

At heart, we’re storytellers here at Catholic Roads. Stories are an irresistible force!

We have few memories that rival sitting on a front porch or around a campfire out in the country telling “tall tales.” Life always seems to be a little better when it includes a good story.

It Is Written …

The Bible tells us that there is a proper time for everything (Eccl 3:1)

There’s a time to be joyful and a time for sorrow. A time to give and a time to receive. And yes, even a time to use your smartphone and a time to put it away.

Life Goes On …

What makes our little story above cute (funny) is the complete ignorance of the character about “what time it is” in the story. Of course, in reality, this is a very serious subject — ignorance of and disregard for things sacred is not a joke! By the way, while we might tend to be upset with the lady in the picture, the question ought to be asked, “Who formed this one? Who instructed her on the faith? Is she one of the many who does not seem to realize the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist?”

Is she the problem? Or is she symptomatic of lackadaisical formation and catechesis over the years?

We use humor because (sometimes) lessons are learned better when they’re served with humor than when they’re accompanied by a critical spirit. The message here is to teach those younger ones the way of the Lord, and then, trust God that they’ll return to it (Prov 22:6).

Oh, yeah! We’re including one more update below — without additional comment. It is completely unrelated to the story at the top of the page.

¡VIVA CRISTO REY!

COOL2B …

It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

In Christ, Brothers.

  1. Thank you Herman for sharing the sacredness of the Eucharist. We Catholics are so gifted to have the perfect union with Jesus available at Mass. God have mercy on us if we abuse this sacred gift. Amen
