Pentecost Sunday

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. It is the day the Church around the world has set aside to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is 50 days after the Resurrection (thus, the name Pentecost) and ten days after the Ascension.

We’ve just posted a little story over on “Bible Study Cartoons.” In this story, Herman the Cathedral mouse is in his little apartment in Chucktown. It’s the eve of Pentecost Sunday and there’s a lot going on in his little mind as he looks forward to this special time.

Some ask us about the “two voices” having a conversation in many of the Porch Stories that we publish. It’s been our experience, both personally and through conversation with others, that it’s not uncommon for folks to “hear” multiple perspectives as they think and pray through things.

The real challenge for each of us to discern which “voice” in our lives (John 10:27-28) is actually the voice of the Holy Spirit, our Friend, Teacher, and Counselor (John 14:26-28). If you understand that, the fun of reading flash fiction in Bible cartoons is figuring it out.

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

In Christ.
