OUR STORY …
Deacon Guy shared with Herman what Bishop Bob had told him and Miss Pam about faith. The wisdom of the old Bishop always surprised the Deacon, though Miss Pam just seemed to delight in it.
Herman? Well, he’s another story!
IT IS WRITTEN …
The Bible warns us that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. It is “nonsense” to them even though it is the power of God to the faithful. (1 Cor 1:18).
OUR STORY …
While we admit to “playing with words” when we call much of our folk artwork “Nun Sense,” there really is a big difference between “nonsense” (foolishness) and “nun sense.”
“Nun Sense” is the kind of sense that faithful priests and religious people have. It is faith that sees the power of God in the cross.
Nonsense, on the other hand, is what we see a lot these days in mainstream media, social media, and on the streets. Generally speaking, it is well-intentioned people living foolishly.
Herman’s response is always prayer and love. He seeks after “nun sense” though he often falls short of the mark. There’s a lot of us in Herman Nootks, and there might be some of him in you too.
COOL2B …
That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!
In Christ.
