Prayer Walking

Herman’s been walking and praying along the highways and byways of the Palmetto State. Well, actually, mostly in the Lowcountry, but the little mouse does get around. That’s what Cathedral mice do.

In the Bible, we are commended to pray without ceasing (1 Thes 5:17). The Bible says that we ought not be anxious about anything. Instead, we should pray about everything with a thankful spirit (Phil 4:6).

In The Nine Ways of Prayer of St. Dominic, a document by one of his followers, St. Dominic walked and prayed. Of course, his walking had a purpose — to get from Point A to Point B. But he didn’t waste time. While he walked, he contemplated and prayed. The result is a common practice that prayer warriors still use today. Herman does it all the time to support Bishop Bob and the Chucktown Diocese.

Herman is beginning a new project with Deacon Guy, Miss Pam, and some of the great people in a Bible study group called “Echos.” He’s praying that the Chucktown Diocese would be able to inject lots of love into the local culture.

The pictures in the gallery above are some places where the angels are joining in with the Chucktown Diocese in this special prayer campaign.

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B.

In Christ.

Herman is walks and prays for the glory of God.
