The Baby Bishop Tale

When Hermon heard that his Bishop was having a portrait painted by Sr. Charlie, he decided to sneak down to the Pauline Book and Media Center to watch. Perching on the back of Sr. Charlie’s tripod, he could see and hear everything. The little orange mouse had a front row seat, and nobody even knew he was there.

The finished product really surprised him.

The Bible tells us, as we think, so we are (Prov 23:7). It’s not saying we can be anything or anyone that we want to be. Rather, it’s saying that we need to be careful about what we allow to enter into our minds. And we need to train our minds to think good and meaningful thoughts.

We are the way we think.

Maybe Herman’s best buddy “Bob” looked like Sr. Charlie’s portrait at one time, but it was plain and evident to Herman that those days were long gone. Today, his bishop was a distinguished leader in the Church.

Herman decided he would not stick around for the unveiling.

Like all our Porch Stories, this is a real and true story — except maybe those parts we added to make the tale “suitable for telling” (interesting). That’s our story and we’re sticking to it.

It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

In Christ.
