The Spirit of Work

We are connected to our work more closely than we are connected to other, similar concepts, such as jobsoccupations, and careers. We can find ourselves or lose ourselves in the work to which we dedicate our lives.

We did this cartoon on our Vocation Works website where we explore the nature of jobs, work, and career more deeply. The point is that work has its own spirituality.

Hopefully, you get a little laugh from today’s cartoon. Our fondest desire, however, is that you might think of your work more seriously and consider the impact it has on your life and the opportunity it offers you to impact someone else’s life each day. Your work matters to God.

Life is a pilgrimage. Your career is the “chariot” you ride through life. Your work (both at home and at your “workbench”) is your opportunity to make a difference. You can make a difference in the pilgrimage of your life by remembering to do three things:

  • Pray
  • Love
  • Serve

It’s cool to be Catholic. It’s “Catholic Cool!”
